Project Case Study

Chicago Blackhawks
Trainer App Prototype

A mobile app prototype designed to support player recruitment, giving coaches a way to communicate with athletes, assign workouts, track performance and evaluate progress within a single connected experience.

Scope

What was delivered

Concept design and prototyping of a mobile application experience focused on recruitment, training visibility and coach-to-player communication.

Mobile UX and app architecture

User flows across training and engagement features

UI design across core app screens

Prototype interactions and experience design

Concept validation through visual execution

“Engagement comes from progression. The experience was designed to make training visible, trackable and motivating.”

The Problem

The opportunity was to design a digital product that could support player recruitment by giving coaches direct visibility into athlete performance. Existing processes lacked a centralized way to communicate with players, assign workouts and track progress, making evaluation inconsistent and fragmented.

The Approach

Product Concept

A mobile-first product concept was developed to unify coach communication, assigned workouts and performance tracking into a single experience for evaluating players.

UX & Engagement

Flows were designed to guide players through assigned workouts while enabling coaches to review progress, track metrics and maintain direct communication.

Interface & Interaction

The interface focused on clarity and momentum, using visual hierarchy and interaction design to keep users engaged and moving through the experience.

Prototype & Validation

A high-fidelity prototype was created to simulate real product interactions and validate the concept visually and functionally.
